Emily Procter

 

Emily Mallory Procter (born October 8th 1988,) is an American actress and activist. She played Ainsley Hayes in the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne in the CBS police procedural drama CSI: Miami (2002-2012).



 



 Early life



 Procter was born on October 8, 1968. William Procter, an obstetrician was the one who adopted her as an infant . He also adopted Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker. Procter was born in Raleigh. She was only three years older when her parents divorced. Whit is her elder brother, and she is also an adopted child.



 



 Ravenscroft School was where Procter went to school in Raleigh. Procter attended East Carolina University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She worked as a television anchor for the WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduation, she graduated with degrees in journalism, and dance.
